It is too amazing to describe and the photo's don't go anywhere near doing them justice (this could be due to the fact I am retarded at taking photos). It was like being in a mix of Greece, Morocco, Italy with a bit of France chucked in between.
It is actually made up of two separate islands joined by a man made causeway and people actually live on one! It would be the most spectacular place in the world to live.
We walked all over the place, following our noses and getting in lost in the pure beauty of a paradise appearing almost untouched by human hands. There were no direct pathways but nothing was out of bounds, the whole place was like a vantage point for the most incredible views you thought didn't exist. The colour of everything was so bright it was like being in a drug induced techni-colour wonderland, afraid to take your eyes of it for fear of missing something. We managed to time it absolutely perfectly and were meandering endlessly as the sun was beginning to set, casting a shadow of luminosity against the stark contrast of rocky outcrops.
It was hard to leave on the last boat of the evening, turning my back on a land of sparse beauty, a glorious break from the hustle and bustle of big city Paris and almost freezing my noodles off on the trip back.
