Finally.

Today I received an email about the OFII procedure that confirms my French visa. Yeah, been in the country for over 3 months and still not technically 'legal'.

Apparently I have to get examined, weighed (the poor people who's scales I'm going to break), measured, take my top off, get chest x-rays (apparently the threat of tuberculosis is rife here) and pay another significant sum of money.

The good news is it happens to coincide around my travels out of Paris, halting no plans and I finally have my passport (actually 3 now, got a bit of a fright to see my 9 year old self staring back in a plaid shirt).

Not only that, but it means that my planned travel out of France and around Europe and afar in January can be done without any worries as coming back into the country will be legal. Bonus.

I had been warned that the French systems were slow, I didn't realise that visa's were handed out as often as Santa delivered his presents.

Next time I'll just ask for one in my stocking.
