Its an arrondisement of gentrification, so although its a rougher area known for its multi culturalism, its increasingly popular and definitely the place to go for a couple of drinks.
Its one of my favourite places because you get to see a different, diverse side to Paris. This bar we went to has super cheap drinks and one of the more interesting clientele's I've seen. The homeless freely enter inside the bar and ask you for money to eat or buy alcohol (the latter more honest) and the illegal immigrants (or so I'm guessing) wander around with bunches of fake roses, asking if you want to buy one for your 'amour'.
Of course, we politely declined.
This graffiti wall is very Banksy-ish. It lines the whole rue with crazy images and says 'omg you're freaking me out' written all over the wall.
